Hades was born to Cronus and Rhea, swallowed at birth like his siblings and freed when Zeus forced their father to
release them. After the Titanomachy, Hades drew lots with his brothers Zeus and Poseidon, and claimed the underworld as
his eternal domain, ruling over the dead far from the light of Olympus.
Hades fought alongside his siblings in the Titanomachy, wielding a helmet of invisibility forged by the Cyclopes that
let him strike Titans unseen. This gift proved decisive in several key battles, helping secure the Olympians' final victory
and earning Hades his rulership over the realm of the dead.
Hades's abduction of Persephone to be his queen became his most defining myth, sparking Demeter's grief-driven winter
and the eventual compromise that split Persephone's year between the underworld and the surface. Unlike his often chaotic
siblings, Hades ruled his shadowed kingdom with cold, unwavering order.
