Aphrodite's birth was among the strangest in Greek myth. When Cronus overthrew and castrated his father Uranus, casting
his remains into the sea, Aphrodite rose fully formed from the sea foam near Cyprus, already a goddess of stunning beauty
before any of the Olympians she would later live alongside were even born.
Aphrodite's earliest defining triumph came through the Judgement of Paris, where she was chosen the fairest of the
goddesses over Hera and Athena, by promising the mortal prince Paris the love of the most beautiful woman alive. This victory
in the divine beauty contest set the stage for the Trojan War itself.
Aphrodite's influence during the Trojan War proved her power extended into the affairs of gods and mortals alike, as
she protected her favored heroes, including her own son Aeneas, on the battlefield. Her ability to shape love, desire, and
loyalty made her one of the most quietly powerful forces among the Olympians.
